Dr. DePinho, born on July 21, 1961, in Luanda, Angola, has dedicated his life to serving the Portuguese community. After Angola gained independence, he moved to Portugal, specifically to Valga, Aveiro, where he grew up with his parents, brothers, and grandparents.
Tragedy struck when his father passed away, prompting Dr. DePinho, his mother, and brothers to emigrate to the United States at the tender age of fifteen. They settled in New York City, where Dr. DePinho excelled academically, attending Yonkers High School and later Columbia University, where he earned his doctorate in dentistry. His commitment to his craft led him to complete his internship at Montefiore Medical Center.
In 1994, Dr. DePinho established his dental practice in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he has made a profound impact on our community, particularly serving a predominantly Portuguese clientele.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. DePinho is a passionate advocate for the Portuguese community. He actively participates in various clubs, organizations, and associations, including the Elizabeth Portuguese Lions Club and Association and the Ovarense Philharmonic. His dedication and contributions have been recognized with his membership as a Meritorious Member of the Portuguese Instructive Social Club.
Dr. DePinho is married to D. Arlene DePinho, and they are blessed with four children: Laura, Andrew, Matthew, and Olivia. Known for his exceptional sense of humor, Dr. DePinho brings joy and laughter to our community, making him an invaluable asset to our Portuguese heritage.
